Book Review of Sweet on You by Becky Wade

About: Britt Bradford and Zander Ford have been the best of friends since they met thirteen years ago. Unbeknown to Britt, Zander has been in love with her for just as long.

Independent and adventurous Britt channels her talent into creating chocolates at her hometown shop. Zander is a bestselling author who’s spent the past 18 months traveling the world. He’s achieved a great deal but still lacks the only thing that ever truly mattered to him–Britt’s heart.

When Zander’s uncle dies of mysterious causes, he returns to Merryweather, Washington, to investigate, and Britt is immediately there to help. Although this throws them into close proximity, both understand that an attempt at romance could jeopardize their once-in-a-lifetime friendship. But while Britt is determined to resist any change in their relationship, Zander finds it increasingly difficult to keep his feelings hidden.

As they work together to uncover his uncle’s tangled past, will the truth of what lies between them also, finally, come to light?

My Review:

Genre: Romance, Christian fiction, suspense.

My Rating: 5 stars.

My Recommendation: 16 up for romance.

My Favorite Character/s: Zander! He’s a writer, (that’s kind of a duh moment for me… :D). And Britt! She makes chocolate, what better pair then a writer and a chocolatier? It’s the kind of a match made in chocolatey stories. I’m writing really stupid descriptions, aren’t I? Yeah, yeah, yeah, back to Zander, he’s a great guy; his care and love for Britt is soooooooooooooooo sweet! I do wish I had the ability to write as much as he does though. He’s the perfect fictional writer from a hard start in life.

My Verse for Zander is 1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (King James Version.)

Britt, the wounded and independent Britt, I’m not sure where to start with her. She’s sweet in her own way (aka sharing chocolate,) and her fighting spirit was fierce!

My Verse for Britt is Luke 6:31
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. (King James Version.)

My Thoughts: The cover is so pretty, if a bit sappy for my tastes but look at the beautiful colors and that dress so pretty! And the pages hidden under that cover are even better, I love the opening scene and I loved the whole book up until the last word, always . . . I love this book so much and I badly want to get my hands on a paperback, which is not something I want to do often for a romance because though I love a good romance I couldn’t care less if it’s Kindle or paperback unless I love the book! And I do soooooooooooooooooooooooo much, this book is soooooooooooooo good and I’m sure you’re done with me saying soooooooooo soooooooooo much so I’m done with my review. But before you go you should know this amazing book comes out today!!!!!!!!

I received this book in exchange for my honest review and I am truly happy to provide it — all the thoughts are my own.

    1. If you read higher I think this would be a good book for you but I suggest you skip the first book in the series until you’re at least 16 because of some of the themes in it.

  3. *Sighs deeply and wishes she was just a few years older…* Yeah, I’m pretty sure though that the writer thing is a dream. I have NEVER really finished a good story, and yet I’ve had an article published. Words are my life. I don’t post much, though. How DO you find the time? I hardly keep up with one a month! * Stares in awe at the bazillion posts by A. Kaylee* I’m wishing I wrote more. This is my latest: https://mykupdates.wordpress.com/2019/05/14/contest-story-stolen-song/ Yeah, delete this if you don’t like advertiseing. * pauses to ponder if it’s an ad.* Yeah, ok, not really an ad. Hope you agree!

    1. *smiles* I know just what you mean. But that’s no reason to give up on writing — just because you feel too young. Think of 1 Timothy 4:12 (Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.) that means even you. *laughs at your awe* My posts aren’t truly that impressive, I’ve only been blogging for almost two years, (it will be two years on October 24th.), and in that time I have done less than 450 posts when my hope was to do a post every day, but it’s still a lot! Before that, I tried so so many hobbies. I tried woodworking, sewing, drawing, knitting, card making, archery (which only lasted a few weeks a month at tops.), quilling, and many more hobbies and the theme with them was that I always gave up after a few months or even weeks. Until finally, I started blogging than writing soon after. I have yet to finish a full novella or novel, I’ve started at least five and I’ve almost given up several times but I feel that I should be writing. If you think you should be writing, push through this feeling of being too young. Push through this feeling of hopelessness, that’s what I’m struggling to do. You can do it! I only succeed with Jesus’ help, you can too.

And about finding the time? I’m a fast reader and some of the reviews I’ve written have been on books I read a while ago, plus writing/blogging is part of my school.
