In the hubbub of wedding preparations, Christmas celebrations, and a house full of lively children, Aggie is feeling overwhelmed and unappreciated. Add to that two puppies who are growing faster than she can replace chewed shoes and fix dug fences, it seems like things just can’t get any worse. My Thoughts
I’ve read this so many times I’ve lost count, it is a bit sad, and it is set around Valentine’s Day… Which makes it the sweetest and saddest book all at once. My sisters (as young as 12) have enjoyed this series making it perfect for most readers.

Meet Chessie and Carson. She goes “all out” for Christmas (and every other holiday including Columbus Day, Cinco de Mayo, and Flag Day); he doesn’t own a single thing that could be considered decorative–unless you count the stickers he stuck to his dresser back when he was three.
Neither of them have ever had a serious relationship; both are opposed to frivolous expressions of affection. How on earth did they get tangled up in a “kiss-a-day-during-December” pact?
My Thoughts
| Genre: Humor, Christmas, and Christian fiction. My Rating: 4 stars. Recommendation: 16 up because of romance. My Favorite Character/s: Grumpy and his love of his granddaughter. His first impressions of Carson are the best, and I didn’t mind reading the POV of an older character since he was kinda cute. I don’t believe he would care for being called cute, but he was! My thoughts: These thoughts are before my reread, so please bear with me. I read this book about a year ago, I think? I’m not too sure when I read it the first time, but I loved it, just like I love almost all of the books Chautona Havig has written. After reread: This is one of the funniest books, it has the best humor that had me laughing almost the whole time. And I forgot how good this book was, there are some things that make the book better for an older audience which is the reason for the 16 up suggestion. My favorite quote: (I had to share my favorite quote!) He grinned at her. “I call it like I wish I’d seen it. So, how was your first kiss?” |
Honor All Men by Rebekah Morris
Devin Moreland doesn’t smile. Why should he when he home has been vandalized? Things change, however, when Sergeant Sinclair steps in with a 4th of July celebration to remember.
My Thoughts
This is a story that shows a not often outlook on a veteran and his life after war, and I really love how Morris showed a long-needed and horribly needed welcome home in this short story.

| Okay, so first; WOW!!! I’ve loved books and I’ve laughed reading books but never so much as this one. This book? I have no words! It was messy, sappy, happy, and wonderfully one of the best books I have ever read! Laughing so hard my jaw and stomach hurt I couldn’t put it down, which is why I’m writing the review at two in the morning. Yeah, I’ll sleep after I finish sighing over this one of a kind book. It’s truly one of my favorites, maybe one of my top five favorites all time other then the Bible. Coming in third after Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand and A Forgotten Truth by Chautona Havig, so pretty high up there! The kids were adorable, their little antics of toothbrushes, toilets mixed with toddlers, jumping from couches, waking their Godfather Sunny, and everything else was so adorable especially the part with the bathroom. 😉 The older ladies . . . Edie and Donna were the best fictional matchmaker EVER! Truly!!! The suit? Oh my goodness that was hilarious! The beginning was funny enough but it kept getting better and better with every scene. I’m not sure if the kids or the ladies were cuter and more mischievous. My only complaint would be that the spiritual content was slightly lacking but that was all right since I think the author was trying not to seem too preachy which it wasn’t. Yes, there is a lot of hard content but that’s all right. It was never too bad but there are many mentions of abuse, abandonment, running away and other things. And that Valentine’s miracle, that was spectacular! I just can’t say about enough to give this book the credit it deserves! The romance was sweet and sappy, the plot hilariously purposeful cliche and wonderful. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review and I’m truly happy to provide it. |
